The protection of personal data is important. This Privacy Policy explains which data are processed when using the "Raumigo" app, for what purposes, and which rights data subjects are entitled to.
The app is designed in such a way that spatial data (scans, vehicle profiles, size comparisons and related local data) is generally processed and stored locally on the device. The only exception are pseudonymised usage statistics processed via TelemetryDeck (see Section 8), the transmission of which depends on consent given inside the app and may be revoked at any time.
The following data may be processed in connection with the use of the app:
Data is processed exclusively for the following purposes:
Processing is based, depending on the type of data and the purpose, on the following legal bases:
The app uses the camera, LiDAR and, where applicable, other device sensors exclusively to capture spatial information (objects, environments, transport paths, cargo areas). The captured spatial data is stored locally on the device and, in the current state of the app, is not transmitted to any servers. The only exception are the pseudonymised usage statistics described in Section 8.
Content data (scans, vehicle profiles, notes, names) is not shared with third parties by the provider. Any sharing actively initiated by the user, for example by exporting or sending a Raumigo bundle, is carried out solely by the user and under the user's own responsibility. As part of the pseudonymised usage statistics, technical event data is transmitted to TelemetryDeck GmbH (Augsburg, Germany) as a recipient. Details are described in Section 8.
Raumigo uses the European analytics service TelemetryDeck to better understand how the app is used, identify technical issues and develop functions in a more user-friendly way. The provider is TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany.
The transmission of pseudonymised usage statistics is based exclusively on your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG. There is no pre-selection: you make your decision during the "Legal" step of onboarding by an active choice between the two equally weighted options "Share statistics" and "Don't share"; the onboarding cannot be completed without this active choice. Your consent therefore is an unambiguous affirmative action within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 11 GDPR. You can change your choice at any time later in the app's settings under "Usage statistics". Consent that has been granted may be revoked at any time with effect for the future via the same channels, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before such revocation.
No names, email addresses, phone numbers, scan content, photos, GPS location data or advertising IDs (IDFA) are transmitted to TelemetryDeck. The analysis is performed on the basis of pseudonymised event data. Even though such data is pseudonymised and does not allow direct identification, it remains personal data within the meaning of Art. 4(1) GDPR and Recital 26 GDPR and is processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
The technical information transmitted automatically includes in particular:
The pseudonymous installation identifier is derived from a random UUID generated locally on first launch and is hashed with SHA-256 before transmission. It is not intended to identify you as a person and is not linked by us to other data sources, in particular not to your Apple ID, other apps or other devices. The Apple advertising identifier (IDFA), cross-device advertising tracking and profiling for advertising purposes are not used.
Tracked events include, in particular, app starts, onboarding steps, tab changes, scan processes and 3D size comparisons, creation and deletion of comparison pairs, use of the 3D viewer, opened help pages, device capability information such as LiDAR availability, and denied camera permissions. A complete list is provided in the appendix at the end of this Policy.
Storage location: TelemetryDeck is operated exclusively from within the European Union; according to the provider, the systems and personnel used to deliver the service are based in Augsburg and Hamburg as well as in the wider EU area. As part of the usage statistics, no transfer to third countries currently takes place.
Retention: Individual event data is stored at TelemetryDeck only for as long as is required for statistical evaluation; the precise scope and retention period are governed by the current TelemetryDeck Privacy Policy. From the recipient's perspective, the data is treated as anonymised once received (see Section 8.4).
Deletion and revocation: The pseudonymous installation identifier is stored locally in the iOS keychain on your device. You can disable the transmission of usage statistics at any time inside the app; from that point on, no further event data is transmitted to TelemetryDeck. When you uninstall the app, the content data stored in the app container (scans, vehicle profiles, size comparisons) is removed completely; how keychain entries are handled depends on the behaviour of iOS and may vary depending on the iOS version, backup status and user configuration. Renewed transmission only takes place if you actively enable usage statistics again after re-installation or renewed use. Event data already received and processed by TelemetryDeck in anonymised, aggregated form, according to the provider, no longer allows any reference to a specific person and therefore cannot be assigned to or selectively deleted for individual users.
A written "data-protection supplementary agreement" is in place with TelemetryDeck which, in addition to the Terms of Service, governs the technical, organisational and transparency-related conditions of the service. Under this agreement, TelemetryDeck takes the position that the data processed in connection with the service does not, from the provider's perspective, refer to an identified or identifiable natural person and that re-identification of individual persons is, according to the state of the art, practically excluded; processing on behalf within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR as well as joint controllership pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR are expressly excluded under the contract. From our perspective as controller, we nevertheless treat the data as pseudonymised personal data and subject it to this Privacy Policy. The agreement contains, in particular, safeguards regarding anonymisation, system security, technical and organisational measures, transparency on material changes as well as the handling of data subject requests.
Personal data is currently not transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Should this become necessary in the future – for example through the use of new service providers or cloud functions – such transfers will only take place under the conditions of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR, in particular on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission, EU standard contractual clauses or other appropriate safeguards. This Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly in such a case.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures pursuant to Art. 32 GDPR to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and misuse. These include in particular:
The measures in place are continuously adapted to material changes in processing and to the current state of the art.
Data created in the app (scans, vehicle profiles, cargo configurations, size comparisons and related local data) is stored locally on your device. Data remains stored until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. When deleting a vehicle profile or object scan, the associated comparison entries are automatically removed as well.
Should optional cloud, account or server functions be added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place. The visualisations and spatial assessments provided by the app are non-binding approximations and do not have any legal or similarly significant effect within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

The controller reserves the right to adjust this Privacy Policy as needed. The current version is made available within the app.
The following events may be tracked as part of the pseudonymised usage statistics, provided you have given consent. Each individual event is automatically enriched with the standard properties listed in Section 8.2 (app version and build, iOS version, device model identifier, app language, random session ID, pseudonymous installation identifier, and an indication whether the device supports LiDAR). The categories below describe what kind of event is triggered:
1. App lifecycle and device information: app_opened, app_backgrounded, device_capability.
2. Legal and onboarding: agb_accepted, onboarding_step_viewed, onboarding_completed, onboarding_skipped.
3. Permissions: permission_denied.
4. Navigation and help: tab_opened, help_opened.
5. Comparison pairs: pair_created, pair_deleted.
6. Scans: scan_started, scan_failed, scan_object_completed, scan_transport_completed, scan_carfit_completed, object_manual_created, carfit_trunk_manual_created, carfit_trunk_measure_used, carfit_seal_method_chosen, carfit_seal_points_completed.
7. 3D Size Comparison: sizecheck_transport_started, sizecheck_transport_completed, sizecheck_transport_opened_3d, sizecheck_carfit_started, sizecheck_carfit_completed, sizecheck_carfit_opened_3d.
8. 3D viewer interactions: result_viewer_3d_rotated, result_viewer_scrubber_used, screenshot_taken_from_3d.
9. Bundles, profiles and surveys: bundle_exported, bundle_imported, bundle_import_failed, car_profile_created, recompute_triggered, survey_shown, survey_answered, survey_dismissed.
The events do not contain any names, email addresses, GPS data, photos, scan content, user-defined labels, notes or other directly entered personal content. Depending on the category, individual events may include additional technical data such as scan type and engine, size-check status, durations in seconds, categorical labels (e.g. seat configuration, tab name, survey answer, context identifiers such as "sizecheck_transport"), counters such as vertex/triangle counts or station counts along a transport path, and dimensions in centimetres derived from manual user input (length, width, height, girth). Error descriptions are truncated to a maximum of 120 characters before transmission.
In the current app build, the events scan_failed, screenshot_taken_from_3d and app_backgrounded listed in the appendix are prepared inside the app but currently not actively transmitted. They are listed for completeness because they may be activated in a future version without exceeding the scope of processing described above.
